Role Overview

As a Data Architect at ITsPeople, you will play a crucial role in shaping the data strategies that support our clients' digital transformation journeys. You will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable data architectures that meet complex business requirements and support advanced analytics. This role requires a deep understanding of data management principles, architecture frameworks, and the ability to align technical solutions with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Strategy Development: Design and implement comprehensive data architectures that align with our clients' strategic goals and support their digital transformation initiatives.
• Data Integration and Management: Develop solutions for data integration, data warehousing, and data governance to ensure the seamless flow and quality of data across the organization.
• Advanced Analytics Support: Create architectures that support advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives, enabling clients to derive actionable insights from their data.
• Technology Leadership: Lead the selection and implementation of data technologies, ensuring that solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with industry best practices.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with business leaders, data scientists, and IT teams to understand their needs and translate them into effective data solutions.
• Data Governance and Compliance: Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and promote knowledge sharing across the organization.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in data architecture and analytics, continually refining and adapting strategies to meet evolving business needs.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in data engineering and architecture, with a proven track record in designing and/or implementing enterprise-scale data solutions.
• Technical Skills: Expertise in data modeling, database design, and data warehousing strategies. Advanced knowledge of ETL processes, data integration patterns, and data governance practices. Strong affinity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, including their native data services. Strong command of SQL, NoSQL databases, and affinity with big data frameworks (such as Hadoop and Spark). Familiarity with data security best practices, compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR), and the implementation of secure data architectures.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to business and technical stakeholders.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in Dutch and English is essential.

• Knowledge of Big Data Technologies: Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark, and Kafka, data management and analytics tools such as Apache Kafka and Snowflake, and data orchestration tools like Apache Airflow is a significant advantage.
• Expertise in Cloud Data Architectures: Proven experience in designing and implementing data architectures on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Agile Methodologies: Understanding and experience with Agile methodologies and their application in data architecture and project management.
